To ensure your stay in Goa is memorable, we have compiled a small list of restaurants, churches, sanctuaries, activities etc that you may find helpful. Each of these have been tried out/ visited by us before it made it to this list.

    Located at Calangute and Panjim, snip is known for their Thai massages and hair care in a luxurious environment.

 

SHOPPING
  1. FLEA MARKET (ANJUNA)
    Be part of the hustle and bustle of a truly international crowd. Shops sell trinkets to motor cycles. Everything you can imagine held every Wednesday from October to April. 
  2. PANJIM
    Fashionistas can find their haven at the homegrown designer of international standard. Wendell Rodricks boutique in Panjim, as well as SOSA which stocks a number of designer wear.
  3. BAGA
    All roads leading to Baga beach are a wonderland for street shoppers and bargain hunters.
  4. SATURDAY NIGHT MARKET
    At Arpora, an all exclusive experience of food, music and shopping. Formerly known as Ingo's night market, held every Saturday.
  5. FONTAINHAS
    Located in Panjim, has beautiful local painted tiles for those looking to take away a slice of Goa back with them.

    Goa is also home to a number of casinos including the floating casinos on the large ship liners, amongst the best being Casino Royale which provides entertainment gambling and scrumptious food .

WILDLIFE /BIRD SANCTUARY

Molem, Bondla and Catigao are the three wildlife preserves. Both sanctuaries at Molem as well as Catigao are provided with a network of motorable roads. Sambars, cheetah, morse deer, langurs, snakes, birds, porcupines, wild boars and bonnet monkeys are found in abundance at these preserves.

The Charoa bird sanctuary draws a number of birds like egrets, kingfishers, brahamany ducks, fishing eagles, sandpipers, coots, grey herons and the migratory pintail. Besides a number of marine species like gliding mudskippers, mud lobsters and fiddler crabs thrive in the exposed intertidal region.

 

CHURCHES
  1. SE CATHEDRAL
    Se Cathedral is dedicated to St. Catherine. It is the largest church in Asia with a barrel vaulted ceiling.
  2. BASILICA OF BOM
    This church is famous throughout the Roman Catholic world, because it contains the body of St. Francis Xavier, a former pupil of soldier-turned-saint Ignatius Coyola.
  3. THE PANJIM CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
    Built by adil shah, you can see the entire view of the lovely Panjim city. It is one of Panjim's best attractions located in the heart of Panjim city and is the first church of Goa, built in 1541.
  4. THE CHURCH OF MAE DE DEUS
    At Saligaon, 13kms from Panjim, the statue of Mae De Deus was brought from old Goa.
RESTRAUNTS / SHACKS
  1. ZANZIBAR
    One of the most popular shacks at Baga beach, a must visit for their lively ambience, known for their cocktails and seafood.
  2. BRITTOS
    Another Baga classic, serves amazing seafood, known for their desserts, with wonderful music.
  3. MAMBO'S & TITO'S
    Late night haven for young revellers, plays trance, psychedelic music with great drinks. Mambos also has some pool tables, serves great pizzas and south Indian food.
  4. FIESTA
    An up market Mediterranean style restaurant, a place to see and a place to be seen. You might see filmstars and industrialists at the table next to you.
  5. A REVERIE
    Located in Candolim is another must visit restaurant for continental food, it is as much eye candy as it is known for its haute cuisine.
  6.  BOMRAS
    A small outdoor restaurant with an extremely innovative chef owner who produces Burmese wonders that have never been tasted before, located in Sinquerim.
  7. LILA CAFÉ
    Owned by a German lady, they are known for their famous breakfast staples. Must try their roesti. Located at Arpora.
  8. REPUBLIC OF NOODLES
    Known for its good staple of oriental food at Candolim.
  9. CAVALA Known for their live music, often find young and old shaking their bootie to some good retro and rock, their food and pina coladas are excellent. Located at Baga.
  10. TRAVEL BAR Pretty outdoor restaurant and bar serves great salads and European food located at Calangute.
  11. THALASSA serves excellent greek food at Vagator beach.
